Was for benefit of Children's Hospital ... and Bernie's wonderful gesture produced necessary monies for purchase of the new Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA) used by neurosurgeons at Children's Hospital for brain and spinal cord surgery ... and by general surgeons there for removal of liver tumors. As Dick Purtan said at the mike, everyone who attended was a celebrity because of the great cause ... Bill Bonds showed another side with his very fine standup comedy while auctioning off donated items ... Purtan must be a Marilyn Monroe buff ... all over the room designed for him were pictures of Marilyn Monroe ... Good thing Mona Rappaport's daughter was there to show her how to put in a camera flash ... Hubby, Dan Rappaport one of the best dressed gents as usual ... Linda Solomon did it in a second for mother Mona ... So many people ... a real fashion show ... tuxes, reg- ular suits, women in long dresses and regular also ...
