Of Lunch Program

On Saturday, Cong. Beth
Shalom will present the first
in a series of Shabbat pro-
grams for families, directly
after Shabbat services. This
family luncheon will revolve
around the theme, "Bereshit,
A New Beginning," and will
feature Rabbi David Nelson
and Matilda Rubin, mental
health professional, leading a
discussion on the importance
of ritual and family mental
health. Baila Dzodin, a thea-
ter specialist, will offer a spe-
cial creative dramatics ses-
sion for children in grades
two through five, and story
telling and music will be pro-
vided for pre-schoolerg.
Babysitting for tiny tots
will also be available. Reser-
vations are required. There is

conjunction with JEFF
(Jewish Experiences for
Families) of the Fresh Air
Society.

Pioneer Day

A trip to Smokler Piorieer
Village at Camp Maas in Or-
tonville, on Nov. 23, is of-
fered by United Hebrew
School Nursery in conjunc-
tion with J.E.F.F. of the
Fresh Air Society.
The afternoon will include
candle and cider making,
woodcrafting Chanukah
menorahs, a hayride,
storytelling and wildlife pre-
sentations.
This afternoon is open to
all families with children in
UHS nursery school or kin-
dergarten. There is a fee.
Transportation will be pro-
vided from United Hebrew
Schools, 21550 W. 12 Mile,
Southfield, and wilel leave
promptly at 1:3Q p.m. Reser-

ing series entitled, "Mentch
Making in Progress," featur-
