in Residence for the Richard
C. Hertz Institute on Reform
Judaism, Nov. 14-15 at Tem-
ple Beth El.
The Richard C. Hertz Insti-
tute was established by Ellin
Arden Lawson on the occa-
sion of the retirement of Dr.
Hertz as senior rabbi of Tem-
ple Beth El in 1982, in mem-
ory of her father and mother,
Manuel E. and Selma E. Ar-
den.
Rabbi Schindler will speak
at 8:30 p.m. Friday on "Pat-
rilineal Descent — An Issue
Dividing Orthodoxy and Re-
form." On Saturday's convo-
cation at 9:30 a.m.,- Rabbi
Schindler will speak on "Will
There Be One Jewish People
by the year 2000?" At the
Saturday morning Shabbat
service at 11:00 a.m., he will
speak on "The Future of Re-
form Judaism."
Rabbi Schindler served
from 1976 to 1978 as chair-
