Seniors Program

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center will have its
weekly Erev Shabbos• pro-
gram at 12:30 p.m. today in
Jaffe Hall of the Jimmy Pre-
ntis Morris Branch.
Marcie Shulman, cantorial
soloist, will sing holiday and
Shabbat melodies.
The Music Lovers Hour,
conducted by Vivian
Stollman, will meet at 1:30
p.m. Monday in room 4 of the
JPM Branch. A video cassette
of Puccini's La Tosca (first
act) will be shown.
On Tuesday at 1 p.m.,
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
the Bais Chabad of West
Bloomfield will speak on
"Jewish History through the
Eyes of the Torah" in the as-
sembly hall. The film, The
Wilderness of Zin, will be
shown at 2 p.m. Tuesday in
the assembly hall.
The Senior Citizen Division
of the Deaf workshop series,
"Hear Ye, Hear Ye," will
take place at 1:30 p.m. Wed-
nesday in room 4 of the JPM.
On Oct. 31 at 12:30 p.m. in
Jaffe Hall, Cantor Max
Shimansky of Cong. Beth
Achim will conduct the Erev
Shabbos program.
Tanya Polskaya, a teacher
of college Russian, from Mos-
cow, will lead a beginning
Russian class at 11 a.m. Fri-
days in room 4 of the JPM
Branch.

.Seniors Room
At Main Center

The main Jewish Commu-
nity Center has established a
seniors room, in room 239,
where senior adults can pur-
sue their favorite pastimes.
Tables, chairs and some
games will be provided.
Members may bring their
own lunches or purchase
them at the Center. Seniors
also are invited to the after-
noon program which begins
at 1 p.m. For information,
call Judy Samson, 661-1000.
A discussion group for
seniors age 55 and up meets
at 1 p.m. Thursdays in room
239 of the main Center.
Grace Gluskin, a journalist
and TV personality, will con-
duct an eight-week series on
"The Family in America."
Admission is free and the
public is invited. For reserva-
tions, call Ms. Samson.
Iry Lichtman will conduct
a session on current events at
1 p.m. Monday in the library
at the main Jewish Center.

free of charge.
