Writing Contest

The Commission on the
bicentennial of the United
States Constitution, the
American Bar Association
and USA Today/Gannett Co.,
Inc., are co-sponsoring a writ-
ing competition in conjunc-
tion with the 200th anniver-
sary of the U.S. Constitution.
The topic for the competi-
tion is "The Constitution:
How Does the Separation of
Powers Help Make It Work?"
Entries must be limited to
1,500 words, excluding foot-
notes, and must be typewrit-
ten or computer-generated
(double-spaced) or written in
legible longhand in ink. All
entries must be accompanied
by an official entry form and
must include the original
essay and two copies.

Microwave Class
In Southfield, OP
cNorma Schonwetter will
conduct classes on microwave
cooking at 1 and 7 p.m. Wed-
nesdays, beginning Oct. 22,
at the Oak Park Community
Center.
Students will be able to
taste a variety of dishes, and
microwave hints and recipes
will be available. A minimum
of ten students is needed per
class. Pre-registration is re-
