Eban To Speak
In Ann Arbor

Israeli diplomat Abba Eban
will speak on "Jewish
Presence in Civilization: A
Historical Overview" at 8
p.m. Wednesday at the Uni-
versity of Michigan Rackham
Lecture Hall.
Eban's talk will be the in-
augural address for the
Shanik-Fleischer Forum, a
new annual forum dedicated
to exploring Jewish presence
and its impact on civilization.
The forum is established by
the U-M College of Litera-
ture, Science, and the Arts
(LSA) with a gift from the
Shirley and William R.
Fleischer Foundation. The
Anti-Defamation League of
B'nai B'rith is a co-sponsor of
the forum.
In addition to Eban's ad-
dress, the forum will include
a round-table discussion on
"Jewish Presence in Civiliza-
tion: A Multidisciplinary Ap-
proach," 8 p.m. Thursday in
the Kuenzel Room of the
Michigan Union.
