ANNIVERSARIES

Meyerhoven 50th

Mr. and Mrs. William
Meyerhoven of Royal Oak
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at a recent sur-
prise reception at the Royal
Oak Woman's Club given by

their daughter and son-in-
law, Blanche and Sheldon
Roth of Oak Park and by
Mrs. Meyerhoven's brother,
Milton "Jack" Berg of Royal
Oak.
Meyerhoven and the former
Florence Berg were married
Nov. 14, 1936, in Detroit on
the same day her parents,
Frank and Blanche
(Ginsberg) Berg were married
in Detroit in 1907.
Mrs. Richard (Alice) Swan-
son, former resident of Royal
Oak who resides in Venice,

Fla., and Berg, who served
the couple as maid of honor
and best man, respectively, at
<, their wedding, were on hand
to help the couple celebrate.
Other guests came from
Florida, Grand Rapids, North
Carolina and Ohio.
Meyerhoven retired from
the steel division of the Ford
Motor Co. in 1974, after hav-
ing worked for the company
for 40 years. He was a former
member and director of the
American Institute of Metal-
lurgical Engineers and is a
life member of the Royal Oak
Elks BPOE 1523.
Mrs. Meyerhoven is a
member of the Royal Oak
Woman's Club and has

chaired its annual golf tour-
nament for the past three
years. She also is a member
of the Wapti Club and a 25-
year volunteer for the Ameri-
can Red Cross.
More celebrations are
planned in Venice, Fla.,
where the Meyerhovens have
a winter residence.

of Southfield, recently cele-
brated their 50th wedding
anniversary at a party at the
Boca Raton Sheraton.
The party was given by
their children, Mr. and Mrs.
Michael Newman of San Di-
ego, Calif., Marlene Meyers
of Los Angeles, Calif., and
Stewart Newman of Boca Ra-
ton.
