Mr. Reich came to Detroit from New York City in 1946. In addition to founding the Foland's chain, Mr. Reich also established Reich Jewelry and Adler-Reese Jewelers, both in Oak Park. Mr. Reich was a member of Temple Israel, Louis Mar- shall Lodge of B'nai B'rith and the Oak Park Masonic Lodge.
