It had only 60 Jewish people. Daughter Francisca, who is now a sophomore at Michigan State U., was named at Tem- ple Israel here ... Rabbi Leon Fram said he was going to Belgium for the World Jewish Congress and wanted to stop for a few days in Majorca. Knowing he was coming, Ben received permission from the government to have serv- ices in July 1966. Rabbi Fram conducted Majorca's first public Jewish service in 500 years. Today, services are held regularly ... and no permis- sion is needed. There are now 150 in Majorca's Jewish community ... with services held in the Hotel Santa Ana. Too bad not even a plaque • or synagogue has been put up in Rabbi Fram's honor. Ben started with the Majorca Daily Bulletin at it's beginning 24 years ago ... writing a daily column, "Who's News" by Benito.
