Dr. Irving Posner, chief of
pediatrics at North End Clinic
examines a young patient. The
clinic opened in 1922 and is now
Sinai Hospital's Shiffman Clinic.

In 1951, Detroit's Jews celebrated
the State of Israel's third
anniversary at the State Fair
Grounds Coliseum. The event

was sponsored by the Jewish
Community Council, established
in 1937 to serve as a Jewish
voice in public affairs.
