Gabon Shuns
Israel Ties
Paris (JTA) — Gabon
President Omar Bongo said
that his country will not fol-
low Ivory Coast and Came-
roon in renewing its diploma-
tic ties with Israel. Bongo,
who was once close to Israel,
said he will restore relations
with Israel "only within the
process which will be defined
by the OAU (Organization for
African Unity)."
Most African states, includ-
ing Gabon, severed their re-
lations with Israel at the
time of the 1973 Yom Kippur
War in response to an
Egyptian-sponsored resolu-
tion approved by the OAU.
Zaire, Ivory Coast and
Cameroon have since restored
these ties. Unconfirmed re-
ports mentioned Nigeria,
Togo, the Central African
Republic and Gabon as coun-
tries about to follow suit.

OH MAMA, WHEN DOES THE PAIN STOP
Oh MAMA how many nights has it been since you left us? How many
days have we gone thru without hearing your voice or just having the
knowledge that you ore here. There have been times of happiness and
times of sorrow, but without you even the times of happiness did not
mean everything they could have meant. Without you there is a void,
an emptiness. There once was a place in our hearts where there was
only love, now there is only pain.
They say time heals all things but it has been three years now and the
tears still come and the pain is still there, when does it stop?
With tears in my eyes and pain in my heart I put on paper these words,
it has been three years on September 23, 1986, that you left us and we
now honor you with this our DEDICATION OF OUR LOVE FOR YOU
