Service Corps Seeks Volunteers The Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) Senior Service Corps., a group of volunteers over age 60 who work at least five hours per week at local community agencies, has openings for workers. Corps members are cur- rently working at the Ameri- can Heart Association, Fresh Air Society, Grace Hospital, Hillel Day School, Holocaust Memorial Center, Jewish Community Center, Mt. Carmel Hospital, Sinai Hos- pital, Wayne State Hillel Li- brary, Zionist Organization of Detroit. Positions are now available at several of these locations. Handicapped individuals over age 55 who are interested in becoming working volunteers can also be placed. Door-to-door transportation is available to and from the job site. There is no obliga- tion on the part of volunteers other than they be available for their assignment one day per week. JVS counselors provide advocacy services for participants, directing them to other community agencies for help as needed.
