according to Eliz Valassis,
owner of the gift shop.

DR. EARL T. HECKER,
attending thoracic surgeon at
Botsford General Hospital in
Farmington Hills, has been
appointed chief of surgery at
the hospital.

HOMEARAMA '87,
a
multi-million dollar cluster. of
12 new "idea" homes by
members of the Builders
Association of Southeastern
Michigan, is open to the pub-
lic now through Oct. 12 at
Deer Creek subdivision on
Eight Mile Rd. between Far-
mington and Newburgh Rds.,
noon to 10 p.m. Monday
through Friday, and 10 a.m.
to 10 p.m. on Saturday and
Sunday. There is an admis-
sion fee.

HOWARD H. NEWMAN
have been appointed directors
of Allied Supermarkets, Inc.

endeavors, having just con-

board of the Jewish Welfare
Federation of Detroit, Sinai
Hospital, Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan De-
troit, Jewish Family Service
and the United Foundation.
Tauber is also on the board of
directors of Wherehouse
Entertainment and Keyco
Bond Fund.

Newman is a vice president
of E. M. Warburg, Pincus and
Co., Inc., a New York-based
financial services organiza-
tion. Prior to joining that
firm in 1984, Newman was
employed by Morgan Stanley
and Co. Inc. in various
capacities.
Allied Supermarkets, Inc.,
currently operates 22 Great
Scott! supermarkets in the
Detroit metropolitan area,
one Family Drug store in
Plymouth, Michigan and a
supermarket in South
Dakota. It also operates the
Abner Wolf Co.

Senior Flu Shots
Are Available

The Oakland County
Health Department will offer
flu shots at Oak Park Senior
Center on Oct. 7 from 1 to 3
p.m.
There is a charge, however
no one will be turned away
because of inability to pay.
Influenza immunizations
are also available at the
health department offices in
Pontiac and Southfield dur-
ing regular clinic hours;
Monday, noon to 7:30 p.m.;
and Tuesday through Friday,
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
