Women's Division

T he enthusiasm and dedication of 600 volun-

teers —and the generosity of Detroit's
women —enabled the division to achieve a new
Allied Jewish Campaign milestone this year:
$3.3 million.

Important contributions to the group's achieve-
ment were by the growing Business and Profes-
sional Division and by the new Lion of Judah
Division, which raised $1.1 million in one day!

Programs like Institute Day and Spring Forum
were undertaken to educate and serve the corn-
munity. Fifty-five newcomers were welcomed
by the Shalom Detroit Committee, and the
First Monday Group highlighted issues of
national concern.

Lion of Judah Division

To involve women in the many opportunities
for volunteer service, the Task Force monitor-
ed hundreds of workers. The School and
Youth Committee added a new teen education
program to its schedule of school visits, and
participants in Israel travel last year were ex-
posed to the workings of Federation.

For the Women's Division, it was a champion-
ship season.
