Eleven Detroit Jews are
participants in the Otzma
Program, taking them to Is-
rael for a year of service
work, followed by local com-
munal involvement upon
their return.

The Detroit contingent is

part of a group of 56 Ameri-
cans, ages 18-24, participat-
ing in the program, sponsored
by the Council of Jewish
Federations. Local funding
came from the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, in coopera-
tion with the Jewish Agency
for Israel.
