smashing, with dramatic colors of
fuchsia with black and royal blue
with black. He also designed a tur-
quoise cloth coat fitted at the waist
with large lapels.
Fabulous furs were from the Re-
villon collection. The minks were
magnificent and the sables special,
but the natural silver fox coats were
show-stoppers. One natural silver
fox coat had . a huge hood to beat the
cold weather.
The evening clothes sparkled
like champagne. Velvets and tafettas
were new looks. Gold-lame outfits by
Frank Usher also shined. Many
gowns had subtle beading and
rhinestones for black-tie affairs.
The entire evening took hours of
planning from co-chair Mary Lee
Fishman and Dana Burnstein. "I
started a year ago pulling this to-
gether," said Fishman.
The fundraising donor afternoon
was held two days later at the ex-
quisite home. of Doreen Hermelin in
Bingham Farms. Ninety women
were served lunch and then listened
to Marci Shulman, a cantorial sol-
oist.The membership drive and fun-
draising proved successful but the
ORT women of Michigan will con-
tinue to push even harder. According
to Mary Lee Fishman, "We're al-
ready working on next year's
events. ❑
