Misha Raitzin

Rabbi Wolfe Kelman and
Misha Raitzin will serve as
rabbi and cantor, respec-
tively, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue for High Holiday
services.
Tickets for High Holiday
services may be purchased in
the synagogue office.
Director of the Rabbinical
Assembly of America, Rabbi
Kelman served as executive
vice president of the Rabbini-
cal Assembly; director of the
joint. placement commission
of the Rabbinical Assembly;
served as a visiting professor
in history and homiletics at
the JTS and was a visiting
rabbi at the West London
Synagogue of British Jews.
Rabbi Kelman has served
as a board member on
numerous national and in-
ternational Jewish organiza-
tions. His writings include
Judaism in Israel, Conserva-
tive Judaism and Future of
the American Synagogue.
A native of Russia, Raitzin
emigrated to Israel, where he
became principal soloist with
the Israel Philharmonic Or-
chestra under the baton of
Zubin Mehta.
Raitzin made his U.S.
debut at Town Hall and ap-
peared with the Metropolitan
Opera.
He has performed the can-
torial liturgy during the High
Holy Days at the Sutton
Place Synagogue in New
York City and has served as
cantor at Grosinger's Hotel.
