Record Sum
Paid For Book
New York — The Book of
Abraham by Marek Halter, a
novel that covers 80 genera-
tions of Jewish life over some
2,000 years, has been sold for
paperback publication for
$231,000 — a record sum for
a foreign author on a Jewish
theme.
The Dell publishing house,
which bought the rights to
Halter's best-seller, plans to
issue the paperback edition
in the spring of 1987.
