taurants ... Kickoff was
Chuck's promotion of famous
Michigan fish and agricul-

are already being taken for

Frank Passalacqua, owner of
Mario's Restaurant on Second
Ave.
Claudia Abel, Frank's fian-
cee thought about something
with a twist . . . After all,
what do you get a man who
has everything but a Ferrari?
... How about 1,000 balloons,
Ten at a time ... with twists
at the end.
The birthday festivities
started at about 11:30 a.m.
... when the national cham-
pionship Lakeview Varsity
cheerleaders from St. Clair
Shores started out his birth-
day surprise by delivering to
Frank 1,000 balloons ... Ten
at a time . . . As one girl
would deliver a bunch, the
next cluster was on its way.
"Happy Birthday, Frank,
from Claudia" was told each
time ... The girls were also
instructed to hand the bal-
loons only to Frank and no
one else ... If he wasn't there
or busy ... wait.
After the luncheon crowd
finally caught on to the cele-
bration, one of Mario's reg-
ular customers, Greg Ander-
son, led the entire dining
room in two verses of happy
birthday to Frank.
The Lakeview Varsity
Cheerleaders did the birthday
surprise mainly as a fund
raiser to help get themselves
to the USC Grand National
Championships ... Frank's
fiancee, Claudia, being an
ex-Lakeview Varsity cheer-
leader herself, understood
how difficult it is for those
young girls to raise enough

money to compete in the
Lansing competition.
It took four hours of steady
balloon delivery ... but final-
ly,after the whole bar was
covered with 1,000 balloons,
from every color of the spec-
trum, the Lakeview Varsity
cheerleaders lined themselves
up and with prestige, gave
Frank a personal birthday
cheer ... They echoed
through the entire dining
room ... "We Wish A Ver-y
Ha-ppy Birth-day To You!"
(clap, clap, clap).
After the balloons, Frank
and Claudia were whisked
away for a superb dinner at
Chez Raphael's in Novi, and
some delectable surprises ...
Every customer got to walk
out with a bouquet of beauti-
ful balloons for Frank
Passalacqua's birthday.

ticket sales for 4th annual
Homearama, Sept. 25-Oct. 12,

is a joint project of Women's
Association for the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra and the

Homearama '87, the
multi-million dollar cluster of
new homes built for public
display, will be located in a
new subdivision in western
Wayne County ... 12 homes
in the $120,000 to $150,000
price range will be built for
display by ten different buil-
ders ... Last year's
Homearama '86 in Bloomfield
Hills, drew about 95,000
people, an all-time high, to
tour 14 homes ... This is the
first time that Homearama
will be a benefit ... Detroit
Symphony Orchestera is
mighty happy to be chosen as
