guys who can drive the ball
farther and have a bit more
steam.
Barry Solomon, lovely Lin-
da's hubby, is still a young
guy, but he contineus to beat
the even younger ones ...
Barry took recent top flight
(highest) championship at
Knollwood Country Club for
the seventh time ... His last
first place trophy was back in
1976 ... Barry has plenty of
them for runner-up positions.
CONGRATS ... to Lou
Taub ... the youngest-
looking 80-year-old I know
... He and wife Betty of 18
years are a couple of "swin-
gers" ... dancing, traveling,
dining and doing much that
many young folks think is
tiring.
WAS A BIG occasion for
one-year-old Michelle Mar-
kowitz, daughter of Dr. An-
drew and Linda Markowitz
... Not everyone gets to have
themselves video-taped while
buying shoes ... That's what
happend when her parents
and paternal grandparents,
Sybil and Mel Markowitz,
took the little lass for her
first pair of real shoes ...
Even along on the expedition
to Hansel 'n Gretel at Tel-12
Mall was grandaunt Mindy
Markowitz ... Grandpa Mel
video-taped the entire shoe-
buying journey ... Michelle's
maternal grandparents are
Lorrie and Sam Greene.
GAIL SHAPIRO of Cadil-
lac Travel tells about Phylis
and Bob Cohen getting the
surprise of their lives re-
cently ... They had been told
by close friends, Linda and
Joe Erlich, of celebrating the
evening together at a restau-
rant as guests of the Erlichs
... Both couples were feting
their 25th anniversaries.
After picking them up, the
Erlich's told Phylis and Bob
of a change in plans ... Res-
taurant reservations were
two hours away so to "kill
time" all drove to a bar in
Ann Arbor for cocktails ...
Following cocktails, it was
back to the Cohen house
under guise of the Erlichs
having to phone restaurant
about being late ... When
the Cohens unlocked their
front door, they found their
dining room table beautifully
set for two by Patrick Vargo
of Chefs de Cuisine on The
Boardwalk, Orchard Lake Rd.
and Maple ... Then the Er-
lichs told the Cohens about
their three children, Evan,
SteVen and Tracy wanting
their 'parents to enjoy a spe-
cial evening alone ... From
that moment on was service
of a luscious six-course gour-
met dinner complete with
wines, etc. ... Following the
Grand Marnier souffle des-
sert, they were "served" a
silver-wrapped box on a
silver tray ... Inside, was a

video tape of their 25 years
together, beginning with
honeymoon at the Algiers
Hotel in Miami Beach, the
children growing up, bar
mitzvahs, grandparents, etc.
... memories galore ... For-
gotten photos that were dis-
covered and put together by
Steve Spitz of Take Two
Video and friend Michael
Cooper with a beautiful mus-
ical soundtrack.
Congrats ... to Phylis and
Bob Cohen and Linda and
Joe Erlich ... on their 25th
anniversaries.
