fresh salmon, delicious hors

"Charlie's Crab in the
Northfield Hilton is a winner
for seafood lovers. The genial
waitpersons will serve you a
pate on matzah with your
:cocktails while you decide
whether you want lobster,
crablegs or a wide variety of
fresh fish. The salad is a
_ fresh compliment to your
meal and the choice of dres-
areotboe cdeenc e i dl e y . T ti
riche
-Irsptgtsriiess hard
- but mouth-melting.
By all means, take your
guests to Greektown and
. Pegasus Taverna on the first
floor of the Trappers Alley
festival market. You can't go
wrong with New Hellas Cafe
or Laikon from the flaming
"oopah" cheese to moussaka,
_spinach pie, stuffed grape
leaves and a variety of lamb
dishes. And don't forget the
Greek salad. After dinner,
you can stroll down Monroe
Street and treat yourself to a
pastry from a bakery or an
ice cream cone. You'll be in
good company.
"Detroit has its Piper's
Alley and Farmington its
Tally Hall. But without a
waterfront, the novelty of so-
called food marts wears thin.
"Detroit needs a har-
borplace, two harborfront
pavilions consisting mainly of
restaurants and food stands,
which have brought new life
to Baltimore. You can't beat
the crab cakes eaten with
gusto by the bay. But Balti-
more, known as the "crab
city," has a definite advan-
tage over Detroit which lacks
any similar distinction.
Maybe someday, Detroit will
develop a food bazaar on the
riverfront. It's. an idea whose
time has definitely come.
