during the arrest.
Capt. Paul Murphy of

Joint Taba
Mapping
Underway

Jerusalem (JTA) — Israeli,
and American
technical teams began last
Monday mapping the conflic-
ting. Israeli and Egyptian
claims in the Taba area. The
mapping took place with the
aid of the multi-national fore.
The two-week mapping ac-
tivity will deal with 14 points
of controversy along the
border, from Taba in the
south up to Rafah in the
north. ,
The Israeli and American
teams flew to Taba after at-
tending the funeral of Brig.
Gen. (Res.) Uri Talmor in Tel
Aviv. Talmor had been the
Defense Ministry's represen-
tative on the Israeli delega-
tion to the Taba talks that
ended earlier this month.
Robbi Sabel,the Foreign
Ministry's advisor, returned
from talks in Geneva with his
Egyptian counterpart, Nabil
AlArabi. The two sides failed
to make progress in selecting
the three international ar-
bitrators who are to sit on the
five-member panel. The
Egyptians are understood to
be extremely cautious in the
selection process. Israel and
Egypt have each already
selected one of their national
to sit on the panel.
