Annette Meskin

Annette Meskin, past
president of the Greater De-
troit Chapter of Hadassah,
was elected vice president of
Hadassah at the organiza-
tion's national convention in
Miami, Fla.
Mrs. Meskin was president
of the Greater Detroit Chap-
ter from 1979 to 1983. She
also is an officer on the
Michigan Region board.

General Meeting

The Woman's Auxiliary of
the United Hebrew Schools
will hold its first general
meeting on Sept. 10 at 12:15
p.m. at the Louis LaMed Au-
ditorium of United Hebrew
Schools.

ogy consultant, will present a

Temple Israel's Sisterhood
will take place at the temple
in Herman Hall on Sept. 8 at
noon.
This annual meeting will
be the occasion for the Daniel
M., Sophie and Arthur J.
Hass memorial lecture. Guest
speaker will be Dr. Fred
Rosner, Physician, author
and lecturer. His topic will be
"Jewish Medical Ethics."
Dr. Rosner is director of
medicine of Queens Hospital
Center and professor of
medicine, State University of
New York College of
Medicine. He is the recipient
of the Maimonides Award
"for notable contributions to
the field of medicine and
Judaica", a diplomate of the
American Board of Internal
Medicine and fellow of the
American College of Physi-
cians.
Dr. Rosner is the recipient
of the Maimonides Award of
the Michael Reese Medical
Center and Chicago College
of Jewish Studies for "notable
contributions to the field of
medicine and Judaica," the
Bernard Revel Memorial
Award of the Yeshiva College
Alumni Association for "dis-
tinguished achievement in
the arts and sciences," and
the Maimonides Award of
Wisconsin for "distinguished
and extra ordinary service to
learning and science."

Who's Who in America, Who's

Dr. Fred Rosner

collaboration with Rabbi J.
David Bleich, Dr. Rosner
published a book on "Jewish
Bioethics".
The lecture is free to paid-
up members of the sisterhood.

JPI Expanding
School Curriculum

The Jewish Parents Insti-
tute is expanding its pro-
gramming this .year. In addi-
tion to Sunday school classes
for children from pre-school
through age 14, JPI is adding
an additional history course
to its curriculum and two op- \
tional programs: one for chil-
dren and one for adults.
Students in Club Nine will
now be offered a course
entitled, "Interaction of
Jewish History and Western
Civilization," dealing with
major movements in modern
history.
Graduation will take place
at the end of Club Ten. Stu-
dents will study "Modern
Jewish Values and Issues,"
including units on cults, val-
ues clarification and Jewish/
ethics.
In addition to the b'nai
mitzvah program, JPI will
offer a Hebrew class for stu-
dents, and a Talmud-Torah
class for adults.
