Human Rights Plea
Slated For December
B'nai B'rith Women's
Council of Metropolitan De-
troit and the Jewish Commu-
nity Council will co-convene
Human Rights Plea for
Soviet Jewry this December.
Marilyn Merdler will serve as
chairman for the event.
That evening, the newly
formed "Michigan Public Of-
ficials for Soviet Jewry,"
chaired by Gov. James J.
Blanchard, will be formally
launched.
In conjunction with the
Human Rights Plea, an essay
contest for area youth will be
held. Certificates will be
awarded and the winning
entry will be published.
Serving on the planning

Sharfman, Sandy Simon,

Wilson.
