Cancer Patients

"Life — Make It Count," a
series of education and dis-
. cussion sessions is being of-
fered by Sinai Hospital to
cancer patients and their
families.
The series will begin Sept.
3, and will run for four con-
secutive Wednesdays. The
meetings will be held in the
East Conference Room of
Sinai's Zuckerman Confer-
ence Center.
At the first session,
entitled "Ask the Doctor," Dr.
Leopoldo Eisenberg, Sinai
hematologist/oncologist, will
provide an overview of cancer
and its treatment.
The second session, Sept.
10, entitled "Where Do I Go
From Here?" will be led by
Linda Diaz, a Sinai social
worker who specializes in the
care of oncology patients.
Diaz will discuss the impact
of cancer on emotional health
and review the community
resources available to cancer
patients.
Marilyn Mitchell, clinical
nurse specialist in oncology
will speak about
chemotherapy at the third
session on Sept. 17.
The final session, entitled
"My Circuits Are Over-
loaded," will be lead by nurse
Mary Cramp. She will focus
on dealing with stress related
to the disease, and provide
some coping, relaxation and
imagery techniques.
