"Remember and Reflect,"
the fifth annual, joint
Polish/Jewish/Ukrainian
commemoration of the Nazi
invasion of Poland, will be
held Sept. 3 at 7:30 -p.m. at
the Holocaust Memorial Cen-
ter.
The commemoration will
include a candlelighting
ceremony by young people
representing each of the
communities and remarks
will be given by leaders and
clergy of each of the three
groups. Dr. John Mames will
describe the educational pro-
grams at the HMC.
Following the program, the
audience will be able to par-
ticipate in a tour of the
Holocaust Memorial Center,
guided by its director, Dr.
Charles Rosenzveig.
The public is invited free of
charge.

Montreux Jazz
Festival Nears

Detroit Renaissance Foun-
dation has announced that
tickets are now on sale for
the seventh annual Montreux
Detroit Jazz Festival Wed-
nesday through Sept. 1 at the
festival ticket office in the
Renaissance Center and at
all Ticket World and Michi-
gan AAA outlets.
The 1986 Montreux Detroit
Jazz Festival will present
Miles Davis, Helen Merrill,
Betty Carter, The Neville
Brothers, Billy Cobham, Joe
Williams and His Big Band
and Sadao Watanabe. Con-
certs are scheduled at Ford
Auditorium, Music Hall Cen-
ter for the Performing Arts,
Chene Park, Westin Hotel -
Renaissance Center and the
Hotel Pontchartrain.
Additionally, traditonal
Festival favorites — The
Montreux Bob-lo Cruise and
New RAPA House Jam Ses-
sion — return to the Labor
Day weekend celebration.
Individual tickets for Mon-
treux concerts are available
by calling the festival ticket
