THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

The Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan Detroit
will present folk duo, Gemini,
in two programs: at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Branch Bash on
Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. and at the
Maple/Drake open house on
Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. There will be
a nominal admission charge
for each.
Gemini consists of twins
Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits.
Using a variety of instru-
ments, the brothers perform
songs of modern-day Israel as
well as Old World songs in He-
brew and Yiddish.

In addition to the folk con-
cert, each Center open house
will feature mini-classes and
displays of all facets of Jewish
Center activities. Visitors of
all ages are invited to spend
the day enjoying a wide variety
of activities, including classes,
book reviews, games, races,
pony rides and on the Maple/
Drake site, boating and hiking.
The open house and the
Branch Bash are a part of the
Jewish Community Center's
60-year celebration. For in-
formation, contact Julie Gur-
win, 661-1000, ext. 207.
