chorus has moved to Lathrup
City Hall, Southfield north of
11 Mile for its every Monday
practices at 8 p.m.
It is expected that the move
will build the chorus from pre-
sent 75 to more than 100 male
singers by time of big
show at Orchestra Hall in fall.
The chapter and chorus was
recently formed by the merger
of two of the most historic
chapters in the Society for the
Preservation and Encourage-
ment of Barbershop Quartet
Singing in America
(S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) . . . the De-
troit no. 1 Chapter and the
Oakland Chapter.
SPINNING GOLDEN
OLDIES is what Rumples-
tiltskin will be doing tonight at
the Troy Hilton's "Summer
Nights" Outdoor Courtyard
party . . . The six multi-
talented musicians and voc-
alists were formed in 1978 by
brothers Chris and Sam
McCants from Akron, Ohio .. .
They play keyboards and
drums.
The group is currently com-
pleting its second album
entitled "Ivy II" . . . The single
Tell Me has been on the Top
100 charts and recently re-
released.
After tonights "Summer
Nights" stint, Rumplestiltskin
