Borman and Emery I. Klein have named their top leader- ship for the 1987 Allied Jewish Campaign. Vice chairmen are David Hermelin, Lawrence S. Jac- kier, Morris Rochlin and Jane Sherman. Hermelin, Rochlin and Sherman are also major gifts chairmen, with Jackier heading up the Project Renewal committee. This year's major gifts chairmen include six former Campaign chairmen: Irwin Green, David Handleman, David S. Mondry, Jack A. Robinson, Marvin H. Goldman and Daniel M. Hon- igman. Others are Mandell Berman, Paul Borman, Dr. Joseph Jacobson, Graham Or- ley, Joseph H. Orley, Herbert Rechter, Lester Burton, Ben- jamin Frank, Bernard Klein, Joseph B. Colten and Dr. Marvin Siegel. Hermelin sits on the boards of Federation and the Jewish Home for Aged, and will lead Federation's Mission to Washington this September. Past president of Cong. Shaarey Zedek, he is national campaign chairman for the State of Israel Bonds and is active on behalf of many Jewish organizations. Jackier, a Campaign vice chairman last year, is a member of Federation's Executive Committee and chairs its National and Community Relations Agen- cies budgeting and planning division. A United Jewish Appeal national vice chair- man, Jackier will lead the Chazak Community Leader- ship Mission to Israel this September. Rochlin helped chair the Campaign's major gifts effort last year. He also has been industrial and Automotive Division chairman and was a co-chairman of the Campaign in 1980. Rochlin is a board member of the Detroit Serv- ice Group and of the United Hebrew Schools. A member of Federation's Executive Committee, Sher- man is national vice- chairman of the United Jewish Appeal and national UJA Project Renewal chair- man. She has served as president and Campaign of Federation's Women's Di- vision and on the boards of United Jewish Charities, Federation's Community Services Division and the Fresh Air Society. Green, a recipient of the Fred M. Butzel Memorial Award, is a member of Fed- eration's Board of Governors. A former Federation vice- president and Campaign chairman, he served as president of United Jewish Charities. Green is a board member of the Sinai Hospital and the Detroit Service Group. Handleman is president of United Jewish Charities and a member of Federation's Rochlin Hermelin Sherman Jackier Executive Committee. A campaign chairman in 1979 and 1980, he currently sits on the boards of HIAS and the Council of Jewish Federa- tions. He has been named 1986 Butzel Awardee. Mondry has been active in the Campaign for many years, serving as Campaign chairman in 1981. He is cur- rently a member of Federa- tion's Board of Governors and has served on the Sinai Hos- pital and DSG boards. A vice-president of Federa- tion, Robinson chaired the 1984 Campaign. He is a former pre-Campaign co- chairman, has led the Profes- sional Service Division and is a board member of United Jewish Charities, DSG and the Jewish Federation Apartments, of which he is a past president. Goldman, past Campaign chairman, will lead this year's cash collection commit- tee and is a former chairman of the Industrial and Au- tomotive Division. He is on the boards of Federation, Sinai Hospital and the Jewish Home for Aged. Honigman has served as both general chairman and associate chairman of the Campaign, as well as a member of Federation's Board of Governors and its cash mobilization committee. Nationally, Honigman has served as national vice chairman of the United Jewish Appeal. and board member of the Joint Distri- bution Committee. Berman, a past president of Federation, is a member of its Executive Committee and heads the Federated Endow- ment Fund. Former chairman of the Campaign's Real Es- tate Division, Berman sits on the boards of Sinai Hospital, United Hebrew Schools and the Midrasha, College of Jewish Studies.
