Elected To JTA Board

Buerger, a graduate of
Carnegie-Mellon University, is a
member of the boards of HIAS
and the Jewish National Fund
and is chairman of the media di-
vision and the campaign cabinet
of the Associated Jewish
Charities and Welfare Fund of
Baltimore.
Jackier, a graduate of the Uni-
versity of Michigan and the Yale
Law School, is a partner in the
firm of Schlussel, Lifton, Simon,
Rands, Kaufman, Galvin and
Jackier of Southfield. He is a
member of the board of governors
of the Jewish Welfare Federation
of Detroit, vice president of the
Jewish Community Center, and a
member .of the executive commit-
tees of the National Conference
on Soviet Jewry and the
Holocaust Memorial Center.

YAD Retreat
For Leaders

Board members of the Jewish
Welfare Federation's Young
Adult Division will have a lead-
ership retreat on Aug. 10.
Beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the
Maple-Drake Jewish Community
Center, board members will par-
ticipate in a discussion of Jewish
issues and a brainstorming ses-
sion on their role in the division.
They will also have the opportu-
nity to enhance their leadership
skills. .
YAD past presidents Stanley
D. Frankel and Ben Rosenthal
will be among the many Federa-
tion leaders on hand, to discuss
the division and the Allied
Jewish Campaign.
Tamara R. Gorosh and Warren
P. Hyams are chairmen of the re-
treat.
