Terri Cassels and Christopher Kalinowski couldn't have asked for a better one . . . nor could the over 200 attendees. Recent marriage of Terri and Chris at Baypointe Country Club was a classic . Chupa on grounds with background of sail- boats, motorboats and shimmer- ing blue waters against a blue sky . . . and 85 degree weather at 5 p.m. without the high humid- ity. You knew it had to be some kind of affair when Danny Jor- dan of The Loving Cup played piano for the ceremony . . . and learned that his wonderful group would play for the reception .. . Rabbi Harold Loss of Temple Israel was to officiate . . . but went to hospital instead with kidney stones . . . In Rabbi Loss' place was young Rabbi Paul Yedwab, also of Temple Israel .. . himself married only two weeks prior . . . and performing his first wedding service. It was a marriage of classic elegance . . . as Irene Light never looked lovelier in her gorgeous gown . . . Nate Light lifted Terri's veil with tender love as he tradi- tionally kissed her on the cheek before she walked to be joined with an adoring and handsome Chris. There were no stops pulled for this wonderful affair . . . The Lov- ing Cup, champagne, hors d'oeuvres, continuous open bar, gorgeous centerpieces with high vases for easy looking, delicious prime rib or fish . . . the wonder- ful voice of Marlene Hill . . . a sweet table with unbelievable goodies . . . so much frivolity .. . so much gaiety. At our table . . . Pauline and Ruby Samson, Sarah and Iry Pitt, Reva Greenspan and wife Frieda . . . Aug. 6 congrats for Ruby Samson ... on his 70th birthday . . . Ruby and Pauline celebrated 47th anniversary in May . . . and Sarah and Iry Pitt their 51 years together in June. When Sarah (Doctor) came here from Russia in 1926, Pauline (Guss) was the first per- son she talked to in English .. . which Pauline had taught her .. . Their mothers had become good friends . . . and Pauline, who could speak Yiddish, taught her new 10-year-old girlfriend how to converse in English. Best dressed? . . . So many of the guys and gals could have put on a fashion show at the wedding . . . In the male category, always tough to beat Ernest Drucker of Executive Custom Shirtmakers, Birmingham . . . red tie, pink shirt with white spread collar and white cuffs, red pocket han- kie, dark suit of burgundy pinstripes . . . Wife Marietta al- ways dressed and looking lovely in keeping up with Ernie . . . in the dress category, that is . . . On the dance floor, Ernest is a whiz of energy, dancing with all the gals, young and elder. The funfest wedding continued on . . . Jean and Sid Charness celebrated their 45th anniver- sary . . . Jeanette Blackman going to other tables collecting scraps for son Ronnie's and wife Bobbie's doberman pinscher .. . Irene was six-years-old when she and then Roz Rosenbloom played with dolls together. Donna Levine Heligman, bosslady of Bardone's Interiors at Applegate Square, exclaiming, "I went off my diet yesterday" .. . New hubby, Dr. Richard Helig- man probably thinking, "Diet? Marilyn Nelson with her new "funky" hairdo . . . so sweet and likeable . . . Daughter Barbie also wears her hair much like mom . . . and other daughter Michelle stays somewhat away from that look . . . Marilyn's hubby, Joel, is the guy with those beautiful grayish locks . . . The 20 gals are Michigan Class A cheer- leader champions. . Overtime for The Loving Cup and Marlene Hill . . . And then a second overtime for this wonder- ful group opening Tuesday at Panache on Woodward in Bir- mingham. The marriage of Terri Cassels and Chris was fun . . . The gorge- ous day, sailboats, motorboats, blue waters and blue sky took a back seat to this lovely couple .. . who made their day a great one for everyone that attended. Congratulations, kids . . . and to the parents . . . You couldn't have done better . . . with chil- dren like these . . . or a wedding to make them man and wife .. . How very proud you must be!
