CITIZENS TO ELECT STEPHEN KORN JUDGE

Dear Voter,

29580 Northwestern Hwy., Suite 106
Southfield, Michigan 48034
353-1243

I am a candidate for Judge of the Forty Sixth
District Court. I am running for the unexpired
term of the late Norman Feder, which will be
designated on the ballot as the two year term.
This is not to be confused with the six year
term sought by other fine candidates, Murray
Slomovitz, Ronald Robinson, Bernard Fried-
man, Stephen Cooper, and Eugene Fried-
man. Since there may be some•confusion re-
garding my candidacy, I wish to inform you of
the present status of our campaign.

On June 2, 1986, I submitted 639 signatures
on Petitions. Only 196 signatures were re-
quired. Yet, in spite of this, the Board of Elec-
tion Canvassers ruled that I would not be on
the ballot due to "ambiguities" on the Peti-
tions. They felt that the Petitions did not reflect
whether the signers lived in the City of South-
field or the Township of Southfield. They said
this even though each person listed their post
office as "Southfield."

We immediately appealed to the Court of Ap-
peals. Once again the question of whether or
not "ambiguities" existed was raised. The
Board of Canvassers told the court that the
Petitions were ambiguous since Bingham
Farms is serviced by the Southfield Post
Office, and Bingham Farms is located in
Southfield Township. In spite of the fact that
the Postmaster of the United States Post
Office in Southfield indicated by letter to the
Court that the Southfield Post Office does not
serve Bingham Farms, the Court still would
not permit us on the ballot. An appeal to the

Supreme Court of the State is under consid-
eration, although the time limitation before the
election may make the effort futile.

In the interim, I want you to know that I am still
a viable candidate, with a great deal of sup-
port in this community. Having 639 signatures
when only 196 were required to place my
name on the ballot, I am determined to let the
people of this community make their own
JUDGMENT, as to who should be their
JUDGE. I, therefore, will run in this political
race as a "WRITE-IN" or "STICKER IN" Can-
didate.

STICKERS WILL SOON BE MAILED OR
DELIVERED TO ALL VOTERS. These stic-
kers must simply be affixed to the inside of the
voting envelope and will count as a vote.
STICKERS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ALL OF
THE POLLING SITES ON ELECTION DAY,
AUGUST 5, 1986. If you would like a sticker,
and do not receive one, please call us, at
353-1240.

I assure you that I will be an active and viable
candidate and I hope that you will "STICK
WITH KORN:"

I AM HOPEFUL FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE
AND SUPPORT, and remain,

Very truly yours,

Stephen P. Korn
Candidate for Judge of the 46th District Court
