Yedwab, the newest member of the rabbinical staff of Temple Israel, will be in the pulpit at 8 p.m. today, and will deliver his first sermon on the subject, "The Appeal of Zeal." Ordained in June from the New York campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Rabbi Yedwab is the son of Rabbi Stanley Yedwab, of Lakewood, N.J. A graduate of Princeton Uni- versity with a bachelor's degree in politics, Rabbi Yedwab also holds a master of Hebrew letter degree from the Los Angeles school of HUC-JIR. As a student rabbi, he held pulpits in Great Barrington, Mass., Cranston, R.I., Santa Rosa and Northridge, Calif., and was a rabbinical intern for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the National Center for Jewish Learning and Leadership. Rabbi Yedwab has been in- volved with young people of all ages. He was program director at the UAHC's Eisner Camp, an ad- visor for Young Judea, song leader at the Los Angeles Jewish High School and singles program director at Cong. Beth Elohim.in Brooklyn. Rabbi Yedwab is the recipient of many scholastic awards, and participated in the development of the UAHC experimental edu- cational program, To See God Through Jewish Eyes. Rabbi Yedwab is married to the former Wendy Hertzbach, of Oklahoma City.
