opinion of religion. Religions
are not important. If there
was no religion, alot of prob-
lems would be solved."
Israel and Judaism are
separate issues, said Nava.
"Because I was born here, I
feel a part of Israel. I feel at
home. Like an Englishman
feels about England.
"My parents are avid
Zionists. I learned from them
about our history, about the
Bible, and our connection
with the land. But my phil-

osophy of life is different
than my education. It goes
beyond the current reality."
Nava would like to see a
world without religion. Or a
world with only one religion.
Unity of mankind is her goal.
A lot of problems would be
solved this way. I know it's
a dream, but this is what I
hope for."
"Most young Israelis feel
connected to this country,"
explained Ella Bar-Illan.
"But they couldn't care less
about their Judaism. We try
to show them that their iden-
tity consists of more than
just an attachment to their
birthplace. Otherwise, what
is the difference between us
and the Bedouin?"
"I think education in Israel
needs to be more traditional,"
said Naomi Rosenberg. "Is-
raeli Kids need a more thor-
ough Jewish background to
be able to knowledgably
choose what kind of life to
lead."
Rosenberg added that she
helped found a Conservative
synagogue in her Jerusalem
neighborhood, strengthen a

Israel Bombs Sidon. Bases

rIbl Aviv (JTA) — The Israeli
Air Force bombed four terrorist
bases outside of Sidon last week
in retaliation for the foiled at-
tempt by four terrorists to in-
filtrate Israel from Lebanon.
Last Monday, in the second air
strike in five days, Israel struck
at terrorist bases in the Shouf
area, between Beirut and
D amur.
Israeli officials said the ter-
rorist attempt reinforced recent
reports that Syria is preparing
for war and sparked fears that
increased terrorist attacks from
Lebanon could trigger full scale
war with Syria.
Last week's clash began when
