The Friends of the Israel
Cancer Association Michigan
Branch will hold their seventh
annual dinner-dance on Sept. 21
at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Mr.
and Mrs. Sam and Sima Yarsike
will be honored.
Mr. and Mrs. Yarsike are sur-
vivors of the Holocaust. They
met and married in Austria
where Yarsike was serving in
the U.S. Army and came to the
United States and settled in De-
troit in the early 1950s. He is
now a West Bloomfield busi-
nessman.
Yarsike is a member of many
charitable and fraternal organ-
izations, including the Jewish
War Veterans. Mrs. Yarsike is a
past president of the Albert
Einstein Chapter of B'nai B'rith.
Zoltan Rubin, president of the
Friends of the Israel Cancer
Association, announces that
Rabbi Milton Arm, spiritual
leader of Cong. Beth Achim, will
be guest speaker. Sigmunt
Rubin is the dinner chairman.
All proceeds from the dinner-
dance will be sent to the parent
organization in Israel.
