Shaarey Zedel announced Donald Fox and Pat Zlotoff, general chairmen. Sister Rittner will be honore "in recognition of her outstar ing humanitarian work bringing the tragedy of th Holocaust, as well as its man lessons to the attention of th western world, particularly the United States." She is an experienced teache and college administrator. 1984, Dr. Rittner developed an coordinated the internationi._ conference, "Faith in Human kind: Rescuers of Jews Durin the Holocaust." The conference was sponsore( by the United States Holocaus Memorial Council in Washing ton, D.C. Most recently, she via ' the executive producer, witty Sondra Myers, of The Courage tJ Care, a short documentary filn about non-Jews during thI Holocaust. The film was nomi nated for an Academy Award it 1986. • In addition to giving numer Otis presentations on thE Holocaust, Dr. Rittner has writ ten several articles both about the Holocaust and about Jewish-Christian relations in the United States. Recently, a Viewer's Guide for The Courage To Care, writte by Dr. Rittner, was published by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'Rith iri New York and distributed to schools and col- leges, churches and synagogues across the country. New York University Press will publish a book edited by Dr. Rittner Ms. Meyers, The Courage to Care, which is a companion vol=' ume to the film. Dr. Rittner is an adjunct asso- ciate professor of inter- disciplinary studies at Mercy College of Detroit, a member of the board of trustees at College Misericordia in Dallas, Pa., andz a member of various educational\ organizations in the U.S. She is the executive director of the forthcoming international con- ference on non-Jewish victims of the Nazis that the U.S Holocaust Memorial Council will sponsor in early 1987.
