Was 46th anniversary of the Silvers . . . daughter Johanna Eisenberg graduated from Oak- land University with Master of Arts degree in divorce mediation . . . granddaughter Wendy Eisenberg's sweet 16 was same day ... and party setting was rededicating Statue of Liberty. Four cakes each had appro- priate inscriptions ... and most of the guests were dressed in red, white and blue ... Striped "Uncle Sam" hats were supplied by the Silvers ... and Anne wore a crown of red, white and blue flowers. Centerpiece was a large-sized reproduction of Statue of Liberty ... and almost everything was red, white and blue decor . balloons, streamers,. table skirt- ings, backyard arch, flowers, etc. Guests sang patriotic songs . .. and Anne gave a speech she had written for the occasion ... even asking them to toast August Bartholdi, father of the Statue of Liberty ... as she said, "We should thank our grandparents and parents for making it possible to live in this wonderful land." The American flag that flew outside also had an historical meaning ... It had been given to Anne and Walter by a naval friend ... after hanging over the United States capitol in Wash- ington, D.C. A large hand-painted poster on an easel depicted the Statue of Liberty holding a scroll on which the poem of Emma Lazarus was printed in script. Born on July 4, Wendy Eisen- berg has an entire country celebrating her birthday each year.
