Akiva Names
Graduates

The 1986 senior class of Akiira
Hebrw Day School was
graduated at ceremonies held
June 29 at Young Israel of
Oak-Woods.
Graduating seniors include:
Susan Arnold, Deborah Beres,
Marcy Borsand, Abigail Guyer,
Lisa Halberstadt, Alexander
Lerner, Dina Najman, Beth
Paholak, Sherri Prostak, Steven
Richter, Jennifer Ruby, Deborah
Singal, Helen Schuraytz, De-
borah Traurig, Michael Zuroff,
Hildee Zwick.
Of the 16 graduates, six were
inducted into the National
Honor Society. They were rec-
ognized for their achievements
with proclamatians presented by
Dorothy Warren, mayor of Lat-
hrup Village.
Eight of the graduates were
inducted in Phi Beta Kappa, six
were presented with the
Presidential Academic Fitness
Award, and six were listed in
Who's Who Among American
High School. Students.
In all, 58 awards, honors, and
other forms of academic recogni-
tion were presented to the class
of 1986.

Youth Plan Trip
To Cedar Point

B'nai David/Tikvah Chapter,
National Conference of
Synagogue Youth, will go to
Cedar Point on Tuesday, meet-
ing at 6:45 a.m. at Cong. B'nai
David. There is a fee.
The group is open to students
in grades eight through 12. For

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION,
Michigan Chapter and Metro
Detroit branch have moved to

Allan A. Cohen of New Or-
leans Kosher Meats and Poul-
try, was recently re-elected
president of the Greater Detroit
Area Retail Kosher Meat
Dealers Association.
Elected with him were: Harry
Levitt, vice president and busi-
ness agent; Philip Swarin of
Singer's Kosher Meat, corre-
sponding secretary; Jack Cohen
of Cohen and Son Meat Market,
treasurer; John Katz of Harvard
Row Meat Market, secretary.
Elected to the board were
Donald Barden of Franklin
Kosher Meats, Bernard Ryber of
Bernard's Kosher Meats and
Eugene Feldman of Dexter-
Davison Kosher Meats.
