Alan Teitel

Alan Teitel established an
endowed library fund at Bar-
Ilan University. It will be
known as the Max and Beatrice
Teitel Memorial Library Fund
honoring the memory of his par-
ents.
The Teitel Fund will be per-
manently invested and the an-
nual income that it produces
will be used both to stock the
Bar-Ilan library system and to
link the Teitel family to Bar-
Ilan in perpetuity.
Teitel is past chairman of the
Allied Jewish Campaign's Mer-
cantile Division, has been active
in Project Renewal and is a past
member of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center board. He is cur-
rently chairman of the Commit-
tee of 1,000 of the ADL and is a
member of the Ambassador's
Society, State of Israel Bonds.
In addition, he is a life patron
of Variety Clubs International,
a past treasurer of Charities for
Children of the Variety Clubs, is
past treasurer of the Oak Park
Masonic Lodge, and in 1982 re-
ceived the Spirit of Detroit
Award granted by the Detroit
City Council.
