RUTH KAPLAN, 86, of South-

field, died June 24. Survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Irwin (Gloria)
Klein; and three grandchildren.

LOUIS KRONEN, 82, former
Huntington Woods resident of
Largo, Fla., died June 24. Sur-
vived by his wife, Irma; a son,
Larry A. of Southfield; a daugh-
ter, Diane Hauer of West Bloom-
field; two brothers, Benjamin of
Studio City, Calif., and Sidney of
Dunmore, Pa.; a sister, Ann Mar-
kowitz of Scranton, Pa.; and three
grandchildren. Interment Largo.

HANNAH MANCHEL, 94, died

June 26. She leaves two sons,
Frank and Jerome; five grand-
children and two great-grand-
children.

MANCI M. MOLNAR, 75, of De-
troit, died June 25. Survived by a
son, Eric of New York; a brother,
Martin Weiss; two sisters, Mrs.
Ethel_ Sucan and Mrs. Charlotte
Desure; nieces and nephews.

HARRY PRADY, 79, died June

25. He leaves his wife, Estelle; two
daughters, Mrs. Sander (Elinor)
Kushner and Mrs. Karen Roth; a
brother, Benjamin; and five
grandchildren.

BLANCHE KAY RICH, 66, died
June 28. She leaves her husband,
Louis Kay; two sons, Larry Rich of
Israel and Jeffrey Rich of Morris-
town, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs.
Rochelle Schlussel; her mother,
Mrs. Edith Strickstein; two
brothers, Jack Strickstein and
Irving Strickstein; and five
grandchildren.

FREDA (ROTHENBERG)
ROTTENBERG of Oak Park

died June 27. Survived by a sister,
Ethel Rottenberg.

JENNIE SEITON, 87, died June

30. Survived by a son, Herbert A.;
a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Lorelei)
Lipnik; two sisters, Florence
Dann and Mrs. Albert (Adeline)
Pines; five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

MORRIS H. SMITH, 83, died
June 24. He leaves his wife, Mary;
a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Lila)
Silverman; three sisters, Mrs.
Sam (Ann) Klee, Mrs. Ida
Middledorf and Mrs. Goldie Gol-
den; and two grandsons.

JOSEPHINE S. WEIN-
BERGER, 69, of Southfield, died

June 29. Survived by her hus-
band, Harry P.; three daughters,
Mrs. William (Georgann) Wolf,
Marian and Nadine Davis; a
brother, Benjamin Brant; a sister,
Mrs. Leonard (Jennie) Leonard;
and four grandchildren.

JENNIE WEINER, 90, former

Detroiter of Winnetka, Calif.,
died June 25. She leaves a daugh-
ter, Mrs. David (Gertrude) Gersh
of Winnetka; a brother, Isaac

IRVING N. WEISS, 66, of South-

field, died June 26. Survived by
his wife, Elizabeth F.; a brother-
in-law, Emery Weiss; nieces,
nephews and cousins.

Edith Sobeloff

Edith Sobeloff, a past president
of the Shapero School of Nursing
board at Sinai Hospital who held
leadership roles in a variety of
Jewish and general community
organizations, died June 22 in Los
Angeles, Calif. She was 83.
Born in San Francisco, Calif.,
Mrs. Sobeloff came to Detroit in
1937, when her husband was
named executive director of the
Jewish Welfare Federation. Mrs.
Sobeloff was president of the
League of Women Voters and held
offices in the Women's Division of
the Jewish Welfare Federation
and the National Council of
Jewish Women.
She was graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed
College in 1923 and completed
graduate studies in 1926 at the
New York School of Social Work
and the Graduate School of
Jewish Social Work combined
program. She later earned a mas-
ter's degree in education at New
York University.
From 1926 to 1930, Mrs.
Sobeloff was on the research staff
of the Bureau of Jewish Social
Work and in 1930 she joined the
staff of the Council of Jewish Fed-
erations and Welfare Funds. Dur-
ing the same period she was
engaged in studies on the social
aspects of medicine and on in-
stitutional and home care of the
aged, working with Dr. Jack J.
Golub and Prof. Ernst Boaz.
She is survived by her husband,
Isidore; a daughter-in-law, Bar-
bara Sobeloff of Bethesda, Md.;
three granddaughters; 12 nieces
and nephews. Interment was in
Los Angeles.

Harry Goldberg

Harry J. Goldberg, an executive
in the carpeting business, died
July 1 at age 81.
A former Detroiter who resided
in North Miami Beach, Fla., Mr.
Goldberg was a founding member
and past president of Adat
Shalom Synagogue, He was active
in the Jewish Welfare Federation
in Detroit and in Florida.
He was a member of the Beth
Torah Synagogue in Miami and
president and board member of
the Yiddish Culture Club in
Florida.
Mr. Goldberg leaves his wife,
Sally; two daughters, Sheilah of
Southfield and Joan of Syracuse,
N.Y.; a brother, Nat Gould of New
York; two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Fan-
nie) Schwartz of New York and
Mr. Irving (Sarah) Lee of Detroit.
Interment Detroit.
