B'NAI MITZVAH
SZ Teens Share
Their B'nai Mitzvah
Joshua Krut and Kevin
Krohner will twin the observance
of their b'nai mitzvah celebration
at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek with Alexei Ab-
ramovich, son of Alexandra and
Galina Abramovich of Bendery,
Moldavia., USSR.
Joshua, son of Michael and
Faye Krut, and Kevin, son of Mar-
tin and Marlene Krohner, have
been writing to Alexei for more
than a year.
Alexei's parents applied to emi-
grate to Israel with his maternal
grandparents, the Arenbergs.
When only the Arenbergs were
granted visas, the older couple
wrote appeals for six months, urg-
ing that the Abramovich family
be allowed to go with them.
In May 1980, the Arenbergs
went to Israel in the hope that
Alexei and his family would even-
tually be able to join them. They
now live in Kiryat Nordau,
Natanya.
Alexei's father was dismissed
from his job and is presently em-
ployed as a locksmith in a factory.
He was trained as an electronics
engineer. Mrs. Abramovich is a
physician.
Aaron Gach Twins
His Bar Mitzvah
Aaron Gach, son of Jerry and
Rochelle Gach, will share his bar
mitzvah with a Soviet Jewish boy
in absentia at 9 a.m. services
Saturday at Cong. B'nai Israel of
West Bloomfield.
Aaron will "twin" his bar
mitzvah with Leonid Litvak of
Moscow, the son of Michail and
Sonja Litvak.
The Litvaks have been trying to
emigrate from the Soviet Union
since 1979. Although they have
many close relatives in the U.S.
and Israel, they have been refused
three times. Litvak, who has a
Ph.D. degree in mathematics, was
fired from his job when he re-
quested to emigrate. He has been
working as a street cleaner since
he applied for his exit visa.
Leonid has a three-year-old sis-
ter and a grandfather in Moscow.
