Seymour Posner of Southfield
has filed for the vacancy in the
46th District Court for Southfield,
Beverly Hills, Lathrup Village,
Bingham Farms, Franklin and
Southfield Township, created by
the death of Judge Norman Feder.
Posner has practiced law for
more than 30 years, with the con-
centration of his practice in the
criminal defense area. He has
held numerous bar positions on
committees and sections of the bar
with relation to his specialty.
Posner is a member of the State
Bar of Michigan, Recorder's Court
Bar Association, State Bar Crim-
inal Law Section, State Bar Crim-
inal Jurisprudence Committee,
law and media committee of the
State Bar, American Arbitration
Association and was admitted to
practice before the Sixth Circuit
Court of Appeals and the U.S.
Supreme Court.
His other accomplishments in-
clude: former member of the
Michigan Appellate Defender
Commission, past president of the
Recorder's Court Bar Association,
twice past chairman of the Crimi-
nal Law Section of the State Bar of
Michigan.
He taught for the Institute of
Continuing Legal Education at
Ann Arbor, planned educational
programs and conducted semi-
nars and conferences for the
Criminal Law Section of the State
Bar and lectured on criminal law
and procedure before civic and
professional groups, including the
Ontario Provincial Judges Asso-
ciation.
