The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. July 8 at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Chairman is Alfred I. Stebbins. Gutman, a member of B'nai B'rith for more than 40 years, will receive the State of Is- rael's Freedom Award. The honoree, who is also an active supporter of the Israel Bond program and the Allied Jewish Campaign, has worked on every Marshall Suburban com- mittee ever formed and has held virtually every office, including that of president. He holds many B'nai B'rith citations and awards, including a national award for his record-breaking recruitment of 100 new members within one year. Gutman also is a charter member of the Oakland Century Lodge, B'nai B'rith, and was in- volved in the B'nai B'rith Youth Services Appeal. He and Betty, Bais Chabad Torah Center of West Bloomfield announces its second annual dinner will take place on July 13 at 6 p.m. at the Young Israel of Oak-Woods. The dinner will honor the memory of Irwin I. Cohn. The master of ceremonies will be Paul Magy. Dinner chairmen are: Ei- leen Borsand, Larry Gormezano and Fran Rogers. Mr. Cohn was a prominent at- torney and philanthropist. As president of Chabad in Michigan, he spearheaded the drive to erect a new Torah Center in West Bloomfield. The center, built in 1983, serves as a synagogue and educa- tional center for all members of the Jewish community, regard- less of synagogue affiliation. In addition, it houses a community mikva and a book and tape li- brary. A special award will be given in Mr. Cohn's memory to his wife, Sadie, and other members of the Cohn family.
