Gov. Martha Griffiths will serve as honorary chairman of the women's Spiritual Adoption luncheon. Ruth Leemon Miller, Greater Detroit Colincil Spiritual Adop- tion chairman, announces that the luncheon will be held on July 31 at the Southfield Hilton Hotel. Highlight of the afternoon will be the presentation of the "Celebra- tion of Women" Award to three women to be chosen on the basis of their leadership ability in the area of improving the quality of life for women and/or children. Selection of the award will be made by a committee consisting of: Dr. Alice R. McCarthy, educa- tional consultant; Maryann Mahaffey, member of the Detroit City Council; Judith Miller, 65th District Representative; and Viv- ian Shapiro, associate professor of social work, University of Michigan. A musical program will be pre- sented by Miriam and Gabriel Bolkosky. The spiritual adoption program was instituted in 1963 as a means by which the American woman can link her interests with those of her Israeli sisters. For a yearly contribution anyone can become a spiritual mother for a year to a child in the day/night homes of Naamat. Hadassah To Hear Leora Halevy Leora Halevy, wife of Gen.
