Sanford (Sandy) Eichenhorn
will be installed as president of
the Michigan Region, United
Synagogue of America at a by-
invitation-only brunch at 9:30
a.m. Sunday at Adat Shalom
Synagogue, announces Detroiter
Asher Tilchin, national vice
president.
He has been active in Jewish
causes since serving on the state
Anti-Defamation League board
for the state of Arizona some 25
years ago. A member of Adat
Shalom synagogue board, he is a
vice president and co-chairman of
the synagogue finance commit-
tee.
Officers to be installed with
Eichenhorn are: Vice Presidents,
Ellen Glen, Leonard Herman,
Larry Lando, Larry Rockind,
Warren Tessler, Sharlene Ungar,
Janis Waxenberg; Secretary,
Larry Rockind; and Treasurer,
Warren Tessler.
Rabbi Efry Spectre, spiritual
leader of Adat Shalom Syna-
gogue, will be the installing offi-
cer.
United Synagogue of America
is the lay organization for the
Conservative movement serving
More than 800 congregations in
the United States and Canada.
Reception Honors
Rabbi Wasserman
Rabbi Simcha Wasserman will
be honored at a reception at 8
p.m. Tuesday in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Berlin, 18251
Onyx, Southfield.
Former dean of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah, Rabbi Wasserman is
the rosh yeshivah of Yeshivath
Ohr Elchonon in Jerusalem. The
Yeshivath Ohr Elchonon is
named in memory of Rabbi Was-
serman's father who perished
during the Nazi era.

Yahrzeit Plaques
Are Dedicated
Adat Shalom Synagogue will
have its annual dedication of
yahrzeit plaques at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday.
Relatives and friends are in-
vited to Minchah services, di-
rected by Rabbi Efry Spectre and
Cantor Larry Vieder. Represen-
tatives of each family will unveil
plaques in the main sanctuary.
The service is open to all.
