First-place winners were Dov Chelst, ninth .grade, essay-junior division; and Alisa Guyer, eighth grade, essay-junior division. Dov is the son of Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Tamy Chelst of Oak Park, and Alisa is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Martin Guyer of Southfield. Temple Students Take Third Place At the recent Yediat Yisrael (Israel Knowledge Quiz), held at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit in honor of Israel Independence Day, three students from the Birmingham Temple took third place. Winners were seventh graders Jeremy Green, Michael Ober and Joel Pittman. Hillel Students Plan Graduation The 14 members of the Class of 1986 of Hillel Day School will graduate Sunday in commence- ment exercises to be held in Far- mington Hills. The graduates will be addressed by Rabbi Robert Abramson, the school's headmaster, who has been on sabbatical in Jerusalem during the 1985-1986 school year. Newly installed President Dan Guyer will also offer his greetings to the class. The commencement will be preceded by a Shachrit service ez 9:30 a.m., also at the school. The members of the graduating class include: Edward Alterman, Julie Feldman, Joseph Green, Trevor Hart, Ariana Jackier , Mitchell Klausner, Michael Langwald, Reva Nelson, Rona Schaver, David Schechter Jeremy Shere, Leeat Shevach Susan Tam and David Tessler. Temple Has Graduation At its recent Shavuot service the Birmingham Temple for mally welcomed its kindergar, teners into the first grade.
