Camp Receives
Skillman Funds

The Silverman Village Pro-
gram for emotionally impaired
children, located' at Camp Maas
in northern Oakland County, has
been awarded a Skillman Found-
ation grant for the 1986 season.
This grant helps to support the
Silverman Village residential
camp program for children aged
6-12, more than 85 per cent of
whose campers receive signific-
ant scholarship assistance.
The goals of the program are to
help children establish positive
relations with other children and
adults; help children accept nor-
mal limits; and aid youngsters
with academic and social learn-
ing problems.
The Skillman grant will also
help to fund a new Atlantic Sea-
board Trip and Outdoor Chal-
lenge Program that will be of-
fered to adolescents. These teens
will go caving, rock climbing,
river rafting and canoeing as
they camp out and travel through
the Smokey Mountains, North
Carolina and West Virginia. For
many of these children it will be
their first trip outside of Michi-
gan.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to
all my dear friends and relatives for their
outpouring of love, consideration, kind-
ness and prayers shown to me during my
recent illness and in. my convalescence.

Words cannot express my appreciation.

With Great Affection,

.

ARTHRITIS

discriminates against women

That's right. Arthritis strikes women
twice as often as men. Almost 25
million American women have
arthritis.
It can change a woman's lifestyle,
self-image and ability to work.

chapter in your area for a free copy
of our "Basic Facts" brochure.
It's time we took arthritis seriously.
