Murray Slomovitz

Assistant Prosecuting Attor-
ney Murray C. Slomovitz, 50, has
announced his candidacy for
judge of the 46th District Court
which includes Southfield, Lat-
hrup Village and Southfield
Township.
Slomovitz, an attorney for 27
years, received his law degree
from Wayne State University in
1959 and his undergraduate de-
gree from the University of De-
troit.
After serving in the Army, he
started a law pfactice with the
firm of Bernstein and Slomovitz.
He was a trial lawyer for 15 years
before becoming a principal at-
torney with the Wayne County
Prosecutor's office, a position
which includes administrative
duties.
Slomovitz was instrumental in
forming a diversion program for
first offenders of non-violent
crimes for the Wayne County
Circuit Court. He has been a par-
ticipant in the National Confer-
ence for Criminal Plea Negotia-
tions.
He is a member of the Michi-
gan Bar, national and local bar
associations and the Prosecuting
Attorney Association of Michi-
gan. He was admitted to practice
before the United States Sup-
reme Court in 1966. He is also a
former officer of the Wayne
County Government Bar Asso-
ciation.

Young Judaea, located in Orton-
ville, Mich.
Camp Young Judaea is open to
children entering grade four -
grade nine and offers full camp-
ing and educational programs
(field trips, scouting, arts and
crafts and more). The camp em-
phasizes JewiSh tradition and
customs.
Camp Young Judaea is the
summer expression of
