Shelly Lynn Berenstein,
daughter of Mrs. Miriam Berens-
tein, twinned her bat mitzvah
with Yulia Chudnovsky, of the
Ukraine SSR, USSR last Satur-
day at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Yulia is 13 years old. Her
father is a physicist and her
mother is - an English teacher.
The Chudnovskys applied for an
exit visa in 1979 and have been
refused. Since that time they
have been denied employment.
The family needs contact from
the west and pressure from the
authorities to help them emi-
grate.

Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Katzman of
\ West Bloomfield, will twin her
bat mitzvah on Sunday with Dina
, Roitman of Krasnoyarsk RSFSR,
USSR. Dina is the daughter of
David and Olga Roitman. They
were refused an exit visa in 1980
for unknown reasons.

A class of women will become
b'not mitzvah on Shabbat
Shavuot Saturday at 9 a.m. The
women will conduct the Torah
portion and participate in the
services.
The b'not mitzvah are: -Dolores
Bloch, Karen Finn, Nancy Ham-
mer and Sheryl Lederman.
