JARC Elects Feldman

Michael S. Feldman was
elected president of the Jewish
Association for Retarded Citizens
at its recent annual meeting.
Feldman previously served as
JARC vice president and chair-
man of the past three major
fund-raising events. Feldman
also served as the chairman of
the Hadracha Leadership De-
velopment Program for the
1985-1986 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, and the national campaign
co-chairman of the National
Young Leadership Cabinet of
United Jewish Appeal. He re-
ceived the 1985 Frank A.
Wetsman Young Leadership
Award presented by the Jewish
Welfare Federation.
Other new officers are: Vice
Presidents, Adell Megdall,
Michael Pitt and Joel Shere; Sec-
retary, Harriet Gelfond; and
Treasurer, Cheryl Guyer.
Directors elected for a second
three-year term 'are; Mrs. Gel-

cillary services which includes
the DeRoy Apartment Program
and the Family Assistance Pro-

Luncheon Nears

Zvi Abramovitz, chief of
surgery and director of blood flow
laboratories at the Shaare Zedek
Medical Center in Jerusalem,
will be the guest speaker at the
Shaare Zedek Scholarship
Luncheon on June 24 at noon at
the club house of the Summit
Apartments.
The local scholarship commit-
tee was organized to support the
school of nursing at Shaare Zedek
Hospital. In 1985, 26 students
sponsored by the Detroit commit-
tee completed their three-year
course of study and are now
working at Shaare Zedek and
other hospitals throughout Is-
rael.
Last year, the group inaugu-
rated a new project again. provid-
ing scholarships for the total
class of 1985.
Mrs. Jack Shenkman is chair-
man of this year's luncheon. For
